The 7th Conference of the European
Foundation for Plant Pathology (EFPP) took place in the Old Aberdeen Campus
at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland from 5th - 10th September 2004 and also
included the 2004 BSPP Presidential Meeting. The president was Stuart
Wale.
Main topics:
- Discovery - New horizons in plant pathology – genes and their products,
novel discoveries, plant ‘omics’ and pathogen ‘omics’
- Development – understanding the pathogen – epidemiology &
forecasting, diagnostics, biology of pathogens
- Development – controlling the pathogen – breeding, chemical, biological
and cultural control
- Delivery – Converting research to practical messages – decision support,
advice in developing countries, training methods and the involvement of
growers, buyers and policy makers in decision-making.
