The Vascular Mycosis of Acacia and Scabby of Fig-Tree in Azerbaijan
THE VASCULAR MYCOSIS OF ACACIA AND SCABBY OF FIG-TREE IN AZERBAIJAN T.M. AKHUND OV 1 1 BOTANY INSTITUTE OF AS OF AZERBAIJAN. Background and objectives Ficus carica L. widely spread in Azerbaijan and occupies widely areas. Albizzia julibrissen Dur. grows in widely condition only in Talysh in Azerbaijan and is rara relict, mesophyl kind. In Azerbaijan condition vascular mycosis of acacia (agent Fusarium albizziae Woronich. and scab by of fig-tree (agent Fusicladium fici Achund. are widely spread and harmful on above-mentioned plants. Taking into consideration great harmfulness of these diseases we consider to develop the investigation on study of above-mentioned diseases. The aim of our work is to reveal species composition spread. Harmfulness and to study the biological signs of agents of above mentioned diseases and on that bases to elaborate rate of control measures. Results and conclusions It was established as a result of investigation conducted by us during the period between 1985-1993 that scabby defeats the leaves fruits of fig-tree [1] and does a great harm to this valuable crop. First signs of disease appears at last ten day period of august, but it develops intensively in September. Minimum temperature for growth and development of fungus is 12deg.C, optimum one is 25 deg.C, maximum one is 32 deg.C. The agent hibernates in falling leaves of fig-tree in conidia stage or in sclerotia one and is origin of infection. Telemorph stage of fungus was not found out. The fungus is narrow-specialised parasite affects only fig-tree. The agent of vascular mycosis affects branches, trunks, causes the whither of acacia [2]. Fungus is narrow-specialised parasite. It was established that Azerbaijan condition fungus does not form telemorph stage and hibernates in conidia stage or sclerotia on defeated branches and trunks of plant.
