Jack’s interest in plant pathology began during his undergraduate studies at Imperial College. He followed his interest in plant-pathogen interactions and went on to complete a PhD and post-doc at the Sainsbury Lab. There he worked to unravel disease resistance mechanisms in plants. Jack left research in 2005, to gain experience in a commercial setting and has since worked in the sales and marketing departments of several companies.
For the last four years, Jack has worked for Illumina, a company that produces cutting edge tools for genotyping and next-generation sequencing. Currently, he is responsible for managing key agricultural accounts across Europe.
Jack is pleased to serve on the BSPP board as the Innovations and Industrial Liaison Officer and his role will be to represent BSPP interests amongst the commercial plant pathology community.
