The BSPP's new image

The BSPP was set up in 1981 and its membership has grown steadily over the last 20 years. To celebrate these 20 years and the new millenium, the BSPP recently had an image overhaul thanks to the publicity team (Ian Toth, Jane Chard and Mark Hocart) and the graphic design and communications company "Parenthesis". The blue logo has been very popular over the years but, to be more reminiscent of plants and thus more appropriate for the society, the Board chose green as its new colour. The BSPP logo has also undergone a very subtle change.

In addition, after comparing several new designs by Parenthesis, a design for publicity material was chosen based on cellular shapes. Swapping the blue colour for green and incorporating a 'cellular design' will be seen not only on this website but also on posters for meetings, flyers, letters etc that are associated with the society.

What's more, although Parenthesis were central to the original designs, BSPP are now able to use these designs to produce their own literature as and when required. For example, the President's meeting Programme, Delegates list, Abstracts covers (2000) and BSPP information leaflet were produced using the new designs. The BSPP can now produce posters and other material for BSPP funded meetings so if you are an organiser of such a meeting then please contact Alison Lees.
