The British Society for Plant Pathology (BSPP) was founded in 1981 for the study and advancement of plant pathology. The BSPP welcomes members from all over the world and from all branches of plant pathology. We support the professional interests of plant pathologists worldwide and provide information and communicate with our members via a newsletter, website and annual meeting. We organise regular scientific meetings, edit three international pathology journals and make funds available to members for travel, short term visiting fellowships, student bursaries and innovation projects. We are a registered charity.
We organise regular scientific meetings, often with other societies, to cover topics relevant to plant pathology. members pay reduced conference fees. Meetings include paper readings and poster sessions, discussion forums, workshops on specialist topics and visits to research establishments. Young members are particularly encouraged to contribute. The P.H. Gregory Prize is awarded annually for the best presentation made by a young scientist who has not previously presented a paper at a BSPP meeting. The Garrett Lecture was inaugurated in 1993, and is to be given at a meeting each year by a plant pathologist from overseas. To join, please download an application form and send it with the appropriate membership fee. There are reduced membership fees for students and the unsalaried members. You receive one or both BSPP journals, a regular newsletter with updates on our activities, information on meetings etc. You may attend BSPP scientific meetings and other functions at members rates, apply for travel and study grants and have access to the members database.
Its newsletter and members database Newsletters are sent to all members three times a year providing information on our activities. A searchable online database is available to members. |
