As part of the BSPP Promotion Fund, we are thrilled to have supported artist Hanna Salomonsson of Oknytt Ceramics to exhibit at Collect 2026, the international contemporary craft fair taking place at Somerset House, London, from 27 February to 1 March 2026.
Collect, presented by the Crafts Council, is the UK’s leading annual fair dedicated to museum quality craft and design, featuring work by around 400 living artists across ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, textiles and more. This year’s edition includes the Collect Open platform: a showcase of bold, site-specific installations by individual artists and collectives selected by expert panels.
Hanna Salomonsson is exhibiting as part of Collect Open 2026, presenting a series of ceramic totems that reflect on veteran trees and the ecological pressures they face. Her work at Collect draws on her deep engagement with natural landscapes influenced by the forests of her native Sweden and the urban wilderness of London, connecting these environments with broader concerns about plant life, disease pressures, and ecological change.
This collaboration marks a new kind of engagement for BSPP, using the visual arts as a medium to open conversations about plant health beyond scientific audiences. By supporting Salomonsson’s participation at a major public art event, BSPP aims to broaden awareness of how plant ecosystems from ancient trees to contemporary landscapes sustain culture, material life and environmental resilience.
Collect 2026 runs through the weekend at Somerset House (Strand, London, WC2R 1LA). Tickets are available for general admission, and Collect Open installations are included in the visitor experience.
Stay tuned for our upcoming Q&A with Hanna Salomonsson, in which she will discuss the inspirations behind her installation and how art can intersect with plant pathology and environmental health.
