Ale Maiano: Ale is co-founder and CEO at Wilbe Group, an end-to-end venture group dedicated to serving entrepreneurial scientists at all pivotal stages including through business education, venture building, investment and growth support. Wilbe’s work is based on the fundamental belief that scientists can solve the key challenges that we are facing today and that scientists will also become the business leaders of this century. Wilbe’s flagship fellowship Become a Science Founder (BSF) is a highly practical and interactive business skills course dedicated to postdoc researchers which is run across 7 countries in partnership with some of the leading research institutions including Oxford University, Cambridge University, Imperial College, Max Planck Institute and EMBL. Before founding Wilbe, Ale trained as a corporate solicitor in the City focusing on tech and venture capital to then take up an operator role in several frontier technology ventures. Academically he specialised in Environmental Law drafting policy for COP15 in 2009 and he is currently a guest lecturer within the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College. A competitive sailor on the Solent and a huge fan of RATM.
