Senior Fellowships
BSPP members who are already established scientists may apply for Senior Fellowships to support working visits of one to three months duration away from their normal places of work or to part-fund longer visits.
Fellowships are intended to stimulate and facilitate studies or training to the benefit of plant pathology. Any applicant must have been a member of BSPP for at least two years and no member may be awarded a Senior Fellowship more than once in any period of five years.
Senior Fellowships are intended to support (a) travel, accommodation and other personal costs directly related to the visit and (b) a contribution to consumables and other essential research costs directly related to the applicant’s proposed research in the host laboratory.
The maximum value of an award is generally £5000 although members are encouraged to be economical.
Applications can not be submitted for both the travel fund and for a fellowship in the same year.
