Senior Fellowships
BSPP members who are already established scientists may apply for BSPP Senior Fellowships to support working visits of one to three months duration away from their normal places of work or to part-fund longer visits.
There are two deadlines each year for submission of applications; The 30th April and 31st October.
Decisions will be communicated within 6 weeks of the deadlines, and funding must then be used within 6 months of the award.
Fellowships are intended to stimulate and facilitate studies or training to the benefit of plant pathology. Any applicant must have been a member of BSPP for at least two years and no member may be awarded a BSPP Senior Fellowship more than once in any period of five years.
BSPP Senior Fellowships are intended to support (a) travel, accommodation and other personal costs directly related to the visit and (b) a contribution to consumables and other essential research costs directly related to the applicant’s proposed research in the host laboratory.
The maximum value of an award is generally £5000 although members are encouraged to be economical.
Applications can not be submitted for both the travel fund and for a fellowship in the same year. Where there are several applications of equal merit, the board reserves the right to prioritise applicants who have not previously received BSPP funding.
