Various pathogens (e.g. Agrobacterium, Ustilago) affect the balance of hormones in plant-pathogen interactions and thereby change the growth of the host at the site of infection. Hormones modulated by microorganisms include abscisic acid (ABA), auxins, brassinosteroids, cytokinins, ethylene, gibberellins, jasmonate, salicylic acid (SA) and strigolactones.
