Science Policy Officer, Research Landscape
Reports to: Head of Science Policy
Contract: Permanent (subject to three-month probationary period)
Hours: Full-time (35 hours pw, with some evening work and travel required)
Salary: £27,445 – £32,723 depending upon experience
The RSB is seeking a science policy officer to advise and deliver a portfolio of activities focusing on the research landscape (research funding, infrastructure, workforce capability, and communication). The work will include collaboration with other learned societies, academies and professional bodies to provide evidence-based consensus advice to policy makers, on key, broad research landscape needs across science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The successful candidate will have a good general knowledge of science, research and the research community, an understanding of the broad UK policy environment, and particular knowledge, interests and skills relevant to research funding, infrastructure, workforce capability, and communications across the biosciences.
