BSPP Publications

The BSPP is responsible for editing three international peer-reviewed journals.

Plant Pathology

Plant Pathology is an international journal that publishes research papers and critical reviews on all aspects of plant pathology. It is published by Wiley & Sons and the senior editor is Dr Matt Dickinson. Plant Pathology covers diseases of temperate and tropical plants caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses, phytoplasmas and nematodes; physiological, biochemical, molecular, ecological, genetic and economic aspects of plant pathology; disease epidemiology and modelling; disease appraisal and crop loss assessment; and plant disease control and disease-related crop management.

Molecular Plant Pathology

Molecular Plant Pathology is a an international journal that has a special interest in publishing papers that emphasise molecular analysis of pathogens, determinants affecting host response to plant pathogens or their interaction. It is published by Wiley & Sons and the Editor in Chief is Prof. Ralph Dean. Molecular Plant Pathology aims to provide a focus for the revolution in molecular plant pathology. It accepts only the most innovative, original and rigorous research in the field for publication.

New Disease Reports

New Disease Reports is an Open Access journal published by Wiley & Sons on behalf of the British Society for Plant Pathology, with no Article Processing Charges. The journal’s objective is to provide a medium for rapid publication of new and significant plant disease outbreaks caused by: bacteria, fungi, nematodes, phytoplasmas, viruses and viroids. The senior editor is Dr Gerard Clover.
