Vacancy: BSPP Membership Secretary 2020-2022

The BSPP are looking for a new Membership Secretary for a three year term commencing in January 2020.  The Board wishes to recruit a new Membership Secretary in advance of the official start date of 1st January 2020 to allow for some overlap with the current Membership Secretary, Dr Wing Sham Lee.

The Membership Secretary is the first contact point for queries from the BSPP membership regarding membership status, assistance with joining the society or renewing membership or other membership-related issues. The Membership Secretary works closely with the Webmanager who also maintains the BSPP Membership Database and is responsible for tracking BSPP Membership Subscription payments.

In addition to these day-to-day responsibilities, the Membership Secretary is a member of the Board of BSPP and is expected to:

  • Attend and actively participate in the four Board meetings per year and one AGM per year
  • Contribute towards discussion and development of ideas and activities actioned by the Board
  • Prepare a report for the Board ahead of each of the four Board meetings per year

The total time involved in the position is two or three hours a week on average over the course of the year. The post is not and cannot be remunerated but the Membership Secretary has the satisfaction of contributing to the smooth running of the Society and of influencing its future as a member of the Board.
